Elafonisi beach

Elafonisi beach is considered one of the most beautiful beach of Europe. Even though it take a little more than an hour away, once arriving to the destination you will understand that was worth the drive. Crystal turquoise water, white and pink sand, picturesque mountain scenery come together into an outlandish lagoon that is hard to grasp with a camera, you just have to witness that.

Platanias

Platanias village is a resort that is highly popular amongst tourists for its dynamic life in the summertime. Stretched for kilometres along the Northern coast of Crete, it has numerous restaurants, bars, shops and activities for taste and preference of any traveller. Take a walk along the main road to experience the diversity of the place, hike up to the upper side of the village to see a more traditional part of Platanias and its main church, to have a glass of wine in one of the tavernas and watch the sun setting and spilling pink and peach colors around the sky.

Balos lagoon

Make sure to devote an entire day to visit Balos bay and the opposite Gramvousa island as this place is very special and will stay in your memories for quite a while. The turquoise shallow waters and the beauty of the beach untouched by civilization resemble exotic islands in the middle of the ocean. On the Gramvousa island which you can also visit in case you take a boat trip, you can observe a shipwreck and once you hike up the hill you will witness an old fortress surrounded by the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
